Singer and producer John Legend is close to winning the most coveted EGOT award.

He is nominated for the best lead actor as Jesus Christ in his performance on NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert”.

He won a Tony for the best revival of a play, “Jitney.”, he previously won an Oscar and Grammy for his work on the movie “Selma” and if he wins an Emmy, he is eligible to win an EGOT . EGOT  is an acronym for EMMY, GRAMMY, OSCAR and TONY awards.

His wife Chritsy Teign congratulates him on twitter, she says

“13 nominations for Jesus Christ Superstar this morning! John got two EMMY nominations! If he wins, he will complete his EGOT and my spike tv award will probably be moved. But it’s ok I AM SO PROUD!” she wrote.
