Juventus new signing, Adrien Rabiot, has aimed a dig at his former club Paris Saint-Germain, saying joining the Serie A champions is a step up in his career.
Rabiot was officially unveiled as a Juventus player on Tuesday after joining as a free agent.
The midfielder had a forgettable last few months at PSG after falling out with the club’s hierarchy.
The 24-year-old also revealed that former PSG teammate Gianluigi Buffon, urged him to join Juventus to move his career forward.
“Juve are a great club, one that is very prestigious with a lot of history and a European tradition. In my opinion and with all respect, it’s a step up from PSG.
“Buffon told me many interesting things about Juventus. He told me that Juve was the best way for me to take a step forward in my career. A season here is worth more than anywhere else.”
The French player disclosed that the thought of playing with Cristiano Ronaldo, also contributed in his decision to join the Serie A giants.
He said:”I had the chance to develop playing with superstars. The chance to play with Cristiano definitely had a bearing on my decision. However, I know that the whole locker room is full of superstars with a positive spirit.”
